The York County Kennel Club of Maine, founded in the 1980s and incorporated in 2001, serves the interests of purebred dogs throughout Southern Maine and beyond. Prospective members are welcome to attend our monthly meetings and our events.
We hold a number of events throughout the year, including a conformation/obedience/rally match and our Community Outreach event, Meet the Breeds. Held in conjunction with our neighboring club Vacationland Dog Club, Meet the Breeds is part of the American Kennel Club’s Responsible Dog Ownership (RDO) initiative.
Our members participate in a number of dog events, including conformation showing, obedience and rally competition, agility, herding, tracking, hunt tests, scent work, and more.
YCKC welcomes all dog enthusiasts, breeders, exhibitors, and companion dog owners who ascribe to the purpose of the club and who are in good standing with AKC. Residence in York County is not a prerequisite for joining. YCKC offers four membership options: Regular, Household, Associate, and Junior. YCKC holds its monthly business meetings on the last Monday of every month at 7 PM. We announce each meeting and its location on our Facebook page, and include Zoom links for virtual attendance.
